How It Works

From January 24th to February 14th, 2025, the Masters League Open will release four challenging workouts, with one new workout released each week. You’ll have one week to complete each workout (totaling four weeks) at your chosen CrossFit affiliate, gym, or training facility. Detailed movement standards will be provided, and each workout must be judged and verified by a certified CrossFit Coach, Certified CrossFit Judge, or a Level III or IV Trainer.

You can attempt each workout as many times as you like within the one-week window. Once your score is verified, you can submit it to track your ranking on our live leaderboard, which allows you to see where you stand among athletes in your division both regionally and nationally.

Age Categories
Masters League athletes now compete within specific age categories: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Age Eligibility
If you are turning 35 on or before October 31st, 2025, you qualify for the 35-39 category. This guideline applies across all age groups; for instance, if you’re currently 44 and will be turning 45 before October 31st, 2025, you should register in the 45-49 age category.

Divisions
When registering, you’ll need to select your division based on your current skill level:

  • Soldier (Beginner)
  • Warrior (Intermediate)
  • Hero (Advanced)
More details are available on our divisions page to help you choose the right level.

Leaderboard
The Masters League Open leaderboard allows every athlete to track their live rankings throughout the competition, providing insights into your performance among fellow athletes across your division, region, and nation.

Prepare to challenge yourself and push your limits this season—register now for a chance to test your skills, connect with fellow competitors, and rise through the ranks in the Masters League Open!

THE ROAD TO THE MASTERS LEAGUE GAMES 2025

The Masters League Games season is divided into three competitive stages, each one pushing athletes to demonstrate their peak performance and resilience. Here’s a breakdown of each stage:

STAGE ONE – MASTERS LEAGUE OPEN

Dates: 24th January – 14th February 2025
Registration Closes: Thursday, 30th January, 10pm AEDT

The Masters League Open is a four-week competition consisting of four challenging workouts. Competitors from across the globe—whether at CrossFit affiliates, local gyms, or home setups—are invited to participate. New workouts are released online every Friday, and athletes have until the following Thursday at 10pm AEDT to submit their scores.

  • Who Can Register: Anyone aged 35 and above is eligible to join the Masters League Open.
  • Video Requirement: Athletes, please record all workouts, as video verification may be required if a score appears questionable. Masters League judges will review videos to ensure legitimacy.

STAGE TWO – MASTERS LEAGUE INVITATIONAL

Date: 3rd or 4th May 2025

The top athletes—up to 5 from each division and age category—will advance from the Masters League Open to the Invitational. This one-day event provides a chance to compete directly against other top performers.

  • Attendance Expectation: Athletes who qualify are expected to attend and compete. If an athlete is unable to attend, their spot will be offered to the next-highest ranking competitor.
  • Video Submissions in Special Cases: For athletes who face exceptional circumstances (such as family emergencies, pre-existing travel, or significant distance from the event), video submissions may be allowed after verification of the circumstances. This consideration is made individually.

STAGE THREE – MASTERS LEAGUE GAMES 2025

Dates: 17th – 19th October 2025

The final stage of the Masters League season, the Games, will showcase the top 2 athletes from each division and age category from the Invitational. For international competitors, the top two from countries outside Australia and New Zealand in the Masters League Open will automatically qualify for the Games.

  • Special Consideration for International Athletes: Masters League will review country-specific growth each year. In some cases, an invitational event may be held in other countries based on athlete numbers.

Embark on your journey to the Masters League Games, and be part of a season that celebrates skill, strength, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
